In the first ever recorded script from 700 BCE, The Ramayana - India taught the world almost everything, right from psychology to political science. Indus valley civilization, the mother of civilizations belonged to this country between 2600 and 1900 BCE. The Nalanda University was established by the Gupta Empire in 427 CE and was active till 1400 CE. Ten thousand students from 36 countries were accommodated in its hostels. It was destroyed by the invaders, who killed the inmates and set its priceless library ablaze. A library that had nine million books and manuscripts and took six months to completely burn down. Govt of India restored the campus in the year 2014 honouring the vision of Dr A P J Abdul Kalam, a former President of the country.
